  • Go [d].
You give a Promise of Friendship to Requiem the Sage.
Requiem the Sage takes your a Glimmer of Hope.
Requiem the Sage takes your a Memory of a Dream.
Requiem the Sage takes your a Shred of Happiness.
Requiem the Sage takes your a Hint of Affection.
Requiem smiles as he sees the gathered items, and ticks them off on a finger.

Requiem says 'Ahh yes, a Glimmer of Hope, often the only thing that can
sustain us through our most trying times. Then there is the Memory of a Dream,
which gives us purpose and drive. A single shred of happiness can mean the
difference between life and death, and even a hint of affection can mean the
world on a lonely night. And then, when times are at their darkest, it is the
promise of friendship that means our survival, for it is our friends that pick
us up when we have fallen.'

Requiem's eyes sparkle as he speaks. Slowly, he gets up out of his chair, and
moves over to a chest nestled beside the stone fireplace. He mutters a word
softly, and a series of intricate runes flash brightly on the chest before it
 pops open.

Requiem reaches in, and pulls out a helm that glistens like the morning dew,
or upon further observation, like a mourner's face, streaked with tears. The
helmet seems to carry with it a solemnity and respect all its own.

Requiem says 'This is known as the Teardrop Helm. It was built in an age
long since over, during the great wars. It is the helmet of protectors and
knights, for it has been instilled with the burden of responsibility for those
they wish to protect. The magic used to create it has long since been lost...
I carry the only remaining Teardrop Helms in this plane. And now, I give it
to you, my young friend. Wear it well.'

Requiem the Sage gives you teardrop helm!
